Successful major gift fundraising all starts with the Case.  The Case for Support is one of the most fundamental documents in any fundraising campaign.  It sets the stage for the “ask”, articulating persuasively all of your key arguments for why major gift donors should invest financially in your appeal.

The Case is a key part of your fundraising plan to draw these special donors in and lay the groundwork for a successful solicitation.  One of the most important strategic tools in your campaign toolkit, your Case will usually be with you and your volunteers when you make a call.  Without a strong Case, it is much harder to recruit senior volunteers to your campaign, let alone to succeed in getting those vital big gifts.
